Mark Vogt and Scott LaMorte shared first place in the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at Clove Lakes Park, each running 18:47. Artie Noland placed third in 19:45.
Lisa LaManna won the women's race in 20:40, with Ellen Brennan Hearn (22:49) and Pat O'Brien (23:00) capturing second and third.
Mark reports that Scottie stopped several times in this race to tie his shoes, so this appears to be a way of competing at Scottie's level - sabotaging his shoelaces before the race. Very ingenious, Mark!
Now if you are very aware, you will find many beautiful sights at Clove Lakes Park each week, as well as out-of-place sights. At 8 am before this week's race, I quietly watched several ducks happily floating on the water, with a few pecking at the duck in front of them playfully (never noticed that before). Nearby, a fisherman prepared his rod with bait and threw out the line - and then proceeded to light up a big, fat stogie - at 8 am!!
