3 Mile Fun Run

Sean McCauley and Tanya French were the winners at the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at rainy Clove Lakes Park. McCauley covered the three mile course in 17:20, breaking away from Scott LaMorte (17:39) in the second loop. Alberto Garcia (18:00), Richie Orazem (18:01) and Frank Connelly (18:42) were third through fifth overall.
French won the women's race in 19:22, with Barbara Byrne second in 20:19. Gail Marino (20:28), Christine Connelly (20:43) and Winnie Ng (20:51) rounded out the top five female finishers.
While it was merely cloudy both before and after the race, it rained steadily during the race, and Sean McCauley turned back a determined Scott LaMorte in the second loop. Tanya French continues to lower her time in recording yet another victory at the Fun Run.
We've heard of runners drooling on their shirt or sleeve, but Mark Vogt managed to drool on his running pants during the race. Glen and Gail's boy Gabe set the official record for most donuts eaten after a race. I lost count, to be honest.
The times are getting faster as the weather gets warmer. And the stories will get better, so feel free to share with me after the race about any funny occurrences on the course.
