3 Mile Fun Run

Oluwaseun Ogunjemilusi and Alma Ramos recorded victories at the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at sunny Clove Lakes Park. Ogunjemilusi covered the three mile course in 18:17, narrowly defeating second place A-Born Etchison (18:31). Chris Strumolo (19:45), Brian Meisner (19:55) and Steve Woitkowski (20:07) rounded out the top five overall.
Ramos won the women's race in 21:32, with Mary Molski second in 23:50. Ashley Bohnenberger (27:19), Gabriella Annetta (27:44) and Lisa Rigolini (28:02) finished third through fifth.
Today was the simultaneous running of the first leg of the 100-mile Ultra Marathon. The first 33 1/3 miles were covered in Clove Lakes Park, with the remaining legs to be run at other city venues tomorrow and Monday. Local heroes Spencer Ellis, Gail Marino and Ruth Fairbrother were among the participants, and enjoyed the local cheering section, led by local, vocal vocalist Alma Ramos and other Fun Run veterans. Good luck for the last two legs, guys!!
