3 Mile Fun Run
February 22, 2003
By Dave Panza
Stephen Hook and Mary Molski recorded victories in the weekly SIAC Run for Fun at soggy Clove Lakes Park. Hook covered the three-mile course in 21:24, while Molski won the women's race in 27:47.
Dom DeRubbio (22:41) and Vito Cannavo, Sr. (22:51) finished behind Hook, while Lisa Rigolini (28:20) and Angela Conte (31:56) placed second and third respectively behind Molski.
What is there to be said about this race? We had a hearty gathering of 10 runners, no canines and many geese for this rainy, miserable edition of the Fun Run. The runners slogged (is that a word?) through numerous puddles and an impenetrable wall of snow on Martling that diverted the runners off the course. Fred Rigolini stated afterwards that it lengthened an already "long" 3-mile course.
Spring can't come soon enough.
